ALIGNMENT
Challenge
Kpoin requires uniform, high-quality visual assets of products to display in the application. However, the variety of image sources and inconsistent visual quality from various e-commerce sites make the product display feel disjointed and unprofessional.
Opportunity
By managing and improving product photo quality, developing a visual system in Figma, and creating dummy icons for products that are not yet available, this project opens up opportunities for Kpoin to deliver a more consistent, recognizable, and trustworthy visual experience in the eyes of users.
Background
The Why
In this project, I helped the Kpoin team ensure that the product display in the application looked consistent and high quality. I started by searching for and compiling product photos, improving their visual quality, and creating dummy icons for products that were not yet available. Additionally, I designed the visual guidelines for the Loyalty Receipt Rules a system that helps the operations team understand and verify transaction receipts from various e-commerce platforms. The goal was to create clear, efficient, and user-friendly documentation that could be used across teams.
The Process
Research
Identifying Problem
Kpoin faces challenges in maintaining consistency and completeness of visual assets in their application. Many products from various merchants and e-commerce platforms do not yet have photos that meet Kpoin's display standards, while others have low image quality or are not available at all. This issue has a direct impact on user experience and the image of the application. Inconsistent product displays make the interface look unprofessional and reduce user confidence in the points and rewards system offered. To address this, I was hired to perform product asset enrichment by identifying products without photos, searching for and selecting suitable images, enhancing visual quality, and uploading the results directly to Kpoin's CMS so they could be displayed immediately in the app. Additionally, the team needed clear guidelines for validating transaction receipts from various e-commerce platforms in Indonesia. Each platform has different invoice formats and terminology, which often leads to errors during verification. Therefore, I designed the Loyalty Guide Receipt Rules a visual guide explaining the key elements of each invoice type, enabling the operations team to perform accurate and consistent checks.

Research
Desk Research
The purpose of this preliminary research is to identify the main challenges faced by Kpoin in displaying product visual assets and verifying transaction evidence from various e-commerce platforms. By understanding these obstacles, ranging from visual inconsistencies and varied invoice formats to internal process efficiency, I can design visual solutions and guidelines that help bridge these gaps. Based on internal observations and analysis of several major e-commerce platforms in Indonesia, here are the three main pain points that were identified:
Synthesis
From Observations to Insights
After identifying the main issues from the desk research and internal observations, I synthesized the findings into three insight areas that formed the basis for designing solutions for Kpoin:
Ideation
Based on findings from the Research and Synthesis phase, I began designing solutions that connect Kpoin's operational needs with a consistent visual experience for app users. This ideation process covered two main areas:
To ensure that all products appear professional and consistent in the application, I designed a standard visual template that serves as a reference for:
Sourcing product images from e-commerce platforms or commercial media.
Simple photo enhancement (cropping, brightness, shadow cleanup).
Dummy icon creation for products that do not yet have photos (visual placeholders with a consistent style).
Figma layout system as a visual management dashboard before uploading to CMS.
To support the verification team in reading proof of purchase from various e-commerce platforms, I developed the “Loyalty Guide Proof of Purchase Rules” in the form of simple photo enhancements (cropping, brightness, shadow removal)
Visual guide explaining the structure of important elements on invoices (store name, transaction amount, purchase date, etc.).
Side-by-side visual comparison between platforms (Shopee, Tokopedia, Blibli, Lazada, etc.).
Easy-to-understand visual markers/descriptions to speed up the internal validation process and reduce manual errors.
Consistency: Visuals must be uniform to build credibility, especially in the context of point exchange.
Clarity: Guidance instructions must be concise and visual-first so that they can be easily transferred to non-design teams.
Scalability: The visual system must be ready to accommodate hundreds of new products without repeating the process from scratch.
Efficiency: The process must cut out manual steps, especially in sourcing → organizing → uploading → documenting.
Final Design
Output :
A collection of high-quality and consistent product images, created for Kpoin application needs.
Consists of 2000± products from various e-commerce categories (groceries, F&B, household, etc.).
Format Final:
Dimensi: 1000px x 1000px (square), transparent background.
Format: PNG, 300dpi, color-accurate.
Naming convention konsisten (misal:
brand_product_variant_size.png).
Highlight:
Consistent visuals in terms of color, shadow, perspective, and uniform cropping.
Direct upload to the Kpoin CMS for team operational efficiency.
Visual Guide Document :
Designed to assist the Kpoin operations and customer service teams in validating purchase receipts from various e-commerce platforms in Indonesia.
Format: Interactive PDF
Key identification elements described:
Platform Name
Store Name
Purchase Date
Order Number/Receipt Number
Product Name, Size, Packaging, Quantity, Price
Covered Platforms :
Shopee

Example of Kpoin UI display when product images appear on the reward list or catalog.
Emphasis on visual harmony between products that have been given final assets.
Number of validated and uploaded products to CMS: [number]
Operational time efficiency: +[percentage] faster validation process.
Improved visual consistency → more professional and reliable user experience.
Final Design

Variations in product image source quality: Many images are inconsistent in resolution and shooting angle, requiring extra editing before they are ready for use.
Standardization of purchase structure elements from multiple e-commerce platforms into a single structured guide.
Synchronization with non-design teams such as operations, who are the end users of the visual guide.
Designing a neat, uniform, and ready-to-use visual system for developers or application teams.
Creating guidelines that speed up and minimize errors in purchase receipt validation.
Successfully improving the efficiency of visual data management and reducing friction between teams.
This project demonstrates how important the role of digital designers is in areas that may seem “technical,” such as asset management and operational guideline creation. There is plenty of room to combine design thinking with direct business needs, even in backend matters such as CMS or operational workflows.
